Overview

The Dow 10℠ is a market index constructed as a subset of the Dow Jones Industrial Average℠. Of the 30 stocks in the Industrial Average, the ten with the highest dividend yield are selected as Dow 10 components. The Dow 5℠ contains the five stocks in The Dow 10℠ that have the lowest prices at the end of December. The Dow 10℠ and The Dow 5℠ generally reflect the "Dogs of the Dow" investment strategy, which was introduced in the early 1990s by money manager Michael B. O'Higgins in his book "Beating the Dow."
