The Dow 5 and The Dow 10 Index family generally reflects the "Dogs of the Dow" investment strategy, which was introduced in the early 1990s by money manager Michael B. O'Higgins in his book "Beating the Dow."
The Dow Jones High Yield Select 10 Index measures the 10 highest-yielding stocks of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Of the 30 Industrial Average component companies, the 10 with the highest indicated annual dividend yield are selected as components of the Dow Jones High Yield Select 10 Index each December.
